Bay Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play | Nikke: Goddess of Victory (2)

Skill 1 – You Can Do it

Activates if self survives when using Burst Skill. Affects all allies.
Proportionally shares damage taken continuously.
DEF 10.13% ▲ of caster’s DEF continuously.

A rather unique skill on present on passives on certain Nikkes (Poli, Jackal, Yulha). However what makes this interesting is that it is permanent after one proc of her full burst. Basically giving a permanent damage share which can be helpful in some boss battles.

However her damage share seems to work very differently from others. Bay takes more damage (40%) than other Nikkes from the squad (15% each). This is not said in the skill description for some reason. This makes bay more susceptible to be taken out first, and would need rather good gear to survive punishment if using her in boss battles.

Despite working rather similarly to Jackal’s damage share, Bay does NOT share the same burst generation quirk Jackal has (When hit, burst gen occurs)

Bay’s def up is too little to matter and won’t help team survivability in any meaningful way. This is due to how the def formula works in the game. More details explained here

Skill 2 – Cheer up together

Activates if self survives when using Burst Skill. Affects all allies
Proportionally shares damage taken continuously.
Activates when Full Burst ends. Affects self
Constantly recovers Cover’s HP by 2.88% of caster’s final Max HP every 1 sec for 5 sec

Game is very unclear in regards to this skill, since skill 1 already has a similar effect. However, this applies to her OWN cover. This effect also has its own unique quirk. Bay’s cover will take around 93% of total damage incoming if it is not destroyed. Damage taken will be split according to skill 1 when it is destroyed.

This makes her cover very vulnerable of being destroyed early as there is only one way to lessen the damage which is enemy attacks hitting other Nikke cover instead of hers. Otherwise all direct hits to the team will directly damage her cover. This makes her cover repair at the end of full burst mostly useless, unless pairing her with Biscuit as she has the ability to rebuilt broken cover

Realistically, this skill is only useful in short fights (PvP) or against enemies with oppressive single target damage (Blacksmith, Alteisein).

Burst – First Winner

Affects self.
Cover’s Max HP ▲ 18% of the caster’s Max HP. lasts for 20 sec.
Affects all allies.
Damage Taken ▼ 8.87% for 10 sec.

Bay increases Cover max HP. This serves as a Max cover Boost + repair as it is worded similarly to Tia’s skill 2, and Tia’s skill 2 does such. She also provides a rather small damage reduction buff

Bay only needs to burst once with her burst to proc skill 1 and skill 2 permanently. However, if cover is destroyed and is rebuilt, Bay would need to burst again to proc the effects of her skill 2. Since her main utility is damage share, The player can opt to run more offensive 20s BII (Mast, Novel) when paired with her as Bay’s burst offers very little after proc’ing her skill passives.

Campaign

Damage share doesn’t have a place in late game campaign clearing. However, Bay can still be used in early game /Low deficits (10%~) to have more forgiveness against enemy attacks and if the player have no other DPS/Support options.

As she’s also a rocket launcher, her burst generation capabilities (mag) arn’t bad as well. A realistic usage for her is using her on stages on where mobs spawn and prepare to attack before the commander is able to act, Bay can allow the team to tank and buy time for full burst instead of a Nikke being instantly snipped.

Arena

Due to her damage share nature, Bay is a “cheaper” Noah in where her damage share from cover can block a nuke hit, while also having permanent damage share after. She works well in team healing orientated teams (stall teams).

Bay Arena Review

(Not because I dislike this game mode)

Special Interception | Solo Raid | Union Raid

Bay’s cover would be destroyed immediately against bosses that can hit rather hard, even with cover repair. Which means that her only optimal team, if wanting to take advantage of her cover damage share, is with Biscuit. Biscuit will be able to repair Bay’s cover every other burst rotation to reduce pressure on the team. Although Bay does not provide DPS utility, she can possibly greatly increase team survivability, which is sometimes what the commander needs.

Since cover is a bit more tankier in Solo raid, she might be able to sustain a team by herself in very specific raids, although most likely not, and would need a second pseudo healer for the team to be able to survive. Which isn’t exactly ideal as Bay offers nothing else except damage share, and the player can just run one dedicated healer instead. Her main team would be Biscuit team due to cover rebuild mechanic, but Biscuit teams are usually perfectly able to sustain itself with the right Nikkes.

However, Bay can possibly help players against Alteisein and blacksmith in Special Interception, due to their overwhelming single target damage, which can nuke down most Nikkes in one barrage, especially Alteisein. Bay can enable the team to receive a bit more punishment before going down via damage share, however do note that this can result in a insta-loss due to all the team members dying at the same moment if it comes to that point, which may submit undesired scores.

Biscuit Team

Dorothy,Biscuit,Bay,Anis: sparkling summer,privaty
  • Dorothy Replacements – any Cool down reduction Nikke if not pairing with Privaty and Anis: Sparkling summer
  • Anis: Sparkling summer and Privaty Replacements – Any of your preferred DPS’s

Strengths

  • Unique on command permanent Skill share, which would help against some bosses in special Interception
  • Strong Defensive Nikke in PvP, taking advantage of stall/healing teams
  • Doesn’t need any investment to function (Can be just left at level 1)
  • Filler Nikke before Anniversary (Bless the meta slaves)
  • However, she is an extreme Waifu (Waifu collectors in shambles)

Weaknesses

  • Awkward spot in PvE. Her skills are not able to sustain the team for a full boss fight is mostly used for “niche” scenarios
  • Offers virtually nothing outside of Damage share
  • has extremely awkward Hip anatomy

Should You Pull?

If you like PvP. You can attempt to pull, however, using mileage on her is highly NOT RECOMMENDED even for pvp purposes. She will always be available in wish list.

Recommended Harmony Cube

Bay Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play | Nikke: Goddess of Victory (5)
  • Vigor cube = As she takes more of the damage from the damage share, she needs a bit more survivability than the others.
